Robotic vs Manual Plasma Cutter
Many people still debate on which plasma cutting method is the best (manual or robotic) and whether or not robotic plasma cutting will eventually take over all together. Plasma cutting is an incredibly useful process of cutting that is mainly used for cutting various thicknesses of metal. However, this method can be quite dangerous as plasma jets can reach temperatures of around 20,000 degrees Celsius.
When it comes to power, there is no denying that the robotic cutters have the greatest ability, which means they are typically used for big jobs, such as construction and can reach the highest levels of heat generation. The main advantage of a manual plasma cutter is the portability of the device. They can be carried to whatever job they are needed for, whereas the robotic plasma cutters are stationary machines. Robotic plasma cutters also beat out humans on precision. They are incredibly accurate and capable of cutting intricate designs into metal.
The debate should not really be on which cutter is the best but which will be best for your needs. If you are a hobbyist that only needs a plasma cutter for small jobs and need mobility, then the manual is the way to go. However, robotic plasma cutters are incredible tools for larger or commercial jobs, no doubt.
