Approaching Manufacturing Problems
Whilst working in the manufacturing industry, there will always be the inevitable issues that crop up from time to time. Order miscalculations, production run or packaging issues, the list of possible problems that can occur is literally limitless.
Fortunately, each problem, while different in its structure can be tackled in the same way each and every time. This can be done using a problem solving template.
Manufacturing Problem Solving Template
Define > Assess > Decide > Implement > Evaluate
This is a basic outline of the problem solving template. This template can be used on any manufacturing issue that may come up. While the template remains the same each time, the actual tasks that may need to be done will vary from problem to problem.
The nature of the tasks that will need to be done is assessed on the ‘Assess’ section of the template. This section can be carried out more effectively with other people, knowledgeable in the nature of the issue.
