CNC Laser Cutting Techniques
There are many different techniques that can be utilised when laser cutting. In order to ensure materials are cut to a high standard it may be necessary to make use of various methods to see which works effectively.
When cutting with a CNC laser, a common technique is to move the cutting head over the metal plate in the shape of the desired part. This allows the part to be cut cleanly out of the pate in one piece. A capacitive height contol system can also be used, this will maintain a very accurate distance between the end of the laser nozzle and the plate that is being cut.
Maintaining a precise distance is crucial as it determines where the focal point is relative to the surface of the plate. Raising or lowering the focal point can also effect the quality of the cut, at the surface, or just below the surface of the material.
