Schools & Laser Cutters
Within secondary school education, design and technology play a part in developing a child’s skills and knowledge in many areas, including woodwork and metalwork. As technology changes, it’s becoming increasingly important for schools to keep up with the latest technology.
Within Technology lessons, students are still learning how to cut materials manually. However, in a world where technology is developing so quickly, learning the required techniques and skills to use new machinery, like laser cutters, will undoubtedly increase their chances of future jobs.
Laser cutting equipment must be handled safely. Before a school can introduce such machinery into their schools, they need at least one teacher who is fully capable of using it and understanding it. It can certainly be a dangerous device, and full supervision is required for students of all ages.
